This morning we started the day early to prepare for our excursion to the beautiful isle of Arran. We had waffles for breakfast and picked up our packed lunches before heading straight onto the minibus. We were on the way to the harbour!
We took the ferry for an hour across the sea and arrived on the island in the sun.
We had lunch on the beach before heading to the outdoor centre to get ready for our gorge walk. We got our (very tight) wetsuits on as well as our buoyancy aids and helmets. We were so hot in the sun before we reached the river!
Then we travelled to the gorge and began our adventure. We travelled up the river, sliding down waterfalls, scrambling up the rocks and doing some cliff jumping. The slides were awesome! Sina did an amazing split jump from the 3m jump and Felipe’s 360 was pretty impressive!
Then we headed into the town of Arran for a chance for some souvenir shopping and since the weather was so beautiful, many of us stayed at the beach, went for a swim, played frisbee and enjoyed the view during our free time. Then Kara and Thomas delivered our fish and chips for dinner.
Before we knew it, we were already heading back to the ferry terminal for our return trip. Everyone was super tired and there was a lot of napping on the trip home.
Once we arrived back at the centre, it was already 9.30pm. We got our campfire set up at sunset to sit around, sing songs and even toast some marshmallows on! What a nice, relaxing end to a beautiful day with great weather and stunning Scottish scenery.
Another great day at camp and yet more fun in store for tomorrow!
