This morning we started the day with some preparation for tomorrow’s Euroscola day. We discussed our topics for tomorrow’s debate and shared our research and ideas. Our topics are the environment, migration, cultural heritage, the future of Europe, human rights and youth employment. We are now well prepared for presenting and debating tomorrow.
Then it was time for our ‘défi de Strasbourg’. We were challenged to create documentaries about Strasbourg in French under a given theme and including as many subjunctives as possible. We first headed to little cafes in our activity groups with our teachers to plan and write the start of our scripts. Then we headed out with iPads to film and interview. We spent lots of time exploring Strasbourg’s touristic and historical sites and even trying some of the local foods.
We headed back to the hostel to edit our documentaries with the help of a teacher if we needed it. We worked so hard and the finished documentaries are amazing. We can’t wait to showcase them tomorrow night.
After dinner, we had our French and European quiz with lots of interesting rounds, including a film quotation round, a music round, a geography round and even a round about our teachers. The winning group were delighted with their Carambar.
We have all headed to bed early tonight as tomorrow we will have an early start and a long, tiring but exceptionally exciting day. We feel prepared and absolutely ready to meet young people from across Europe and express our opinions on an international stage. We can’t wait!
