Welcome a French child this spring

We are looking for 11 families in Stewarton and the surrounding area to host a French child (aged 7-11), or two French siblings, from the 26th of April-1st of May 2017. Our partner organisation, Amis Mots, from Dijon in France have been coming to Stewarton with their students for the past two years and they love visiting our friendly Ayrshire town. The visit has been a big success with strong friendships which blossomed between the French and Scottish children.

On the Thursday and Friday of the trip, the French children will be taking part in language activities at Nether Robertland Primary School and there will be a whole range of cultural and adventure activities available for everyone at the weekend. The children of the host families can attend the whole weekend and evening programme absolutely free of charge. They will get the chance to engage in organised activities with children from another culture and learn some French with our qualified, experienced team of teachers. Parents can gain a child-free weekend to relax too!

You can see the programme for the whole week below.

Host families would welcome the children on their arrival in Stewarton on the 26th and provide their accommodation and food for the 5 nights. Our French-speaking teachers in the Articulate Language Camps team, and the teachers coming with the French pupils, will coordinate everything in advance and support you throughout the whole programme. We can even help with school drop-off, pick-up and after school care.

It’s an amazing opportunity for whole family to share our language and Scottish culture with some enthusiastic, courageous French little ones.

Interested in becoming a host family?

Fantastique! Send us an email at info@articulate-lc.com or give us a call on 07791 698945/08435 574449 and we can answer any questions you may have.

We will then come and visit you, at a convenient time for the whole family, to ask some questions and put together a pack for the child who will be visiting you so they know what to expect. We want to show them where they will be staying and introduce them to their future Scottish family for a week. We will also have to complete paperwork and process a PVG (a criminal record check) for the adults in the family. We will cover the organisation of this and the costs involved too.
